Artist's Description
This illustration was commissioned in 1994. The three dolphins were playing in deep blue water under a burst of sunlight.
I used three grades of pencil leads to create the rich black and gray tones. The real challenge was to be true to detail from the photograph supplied. I enjoyed trying to retain the effects of light on the Dolphins skin by using different pencil weights.
If I remember correctly, the images drawn were taken from images my client supplied to me.
